Full body or focused area, each therapeutic massage session is designed to meet your individual needs using one or a combination of the following massage styles and techniques.
Swedish Massage is a classic massage consisting of various strokes used to promote deep relaxation, manipulate soft tissues, increase blood and lymph circulation, relax muscles, relieve pain and restore metabolic balance.
► Neuromuscular Technique (Trigger Point Therapy)
Neuromuscular Technique (NMT) aims to bring balance between the nervous system and the muscular system. Factors that contribute to pain and dysfunction of the body such as postural distortions, body mechanics, stress, trigger points, and cellular nutrition are examined. Techniques are used to release the hyper- contracted muscle tissue to restore balance to muscle groups and the nervous system.
► Deep Tissue
Deep tissue therapy involves slow intensive strokes, deep pressure or friction to specific muscle groups and their surrounding tissues. This is mostly used to work out “knots” in the muscle. Deep tissue massage aids in the restoration of range of motion and mobility to injured tissue. Elbows, forearms, and soft fists are tools used to increase pressure and depth. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial.
► Facial "spa" massage
Combines various massage modalities to create the most effective change in the tissues of the face and neck. Valuable in managing dry skin, puffy eyes, rosasia, etc. No skin products are used.
Sports massage is designed for athletes or anyone who performs repetitive movements. Often based on Swedish massage, sports massage uses techniques such as deep tissue work, cross-fiber friction, trigger points and stretching. It enhances the removal of metabolic wastes and relieves muscle soreness caused from workouts or repetitive motion. It can enhance a person’s (e.g. athlete, musician) performance and extend their career.
► Lymphatic Facilitation
Extremely light technique that facilitates healing after injury/surgery, improves and enhances internal tissue nutrition, assists in the removal of metabolic and environmental wastes (detoxification), increases range of motion and prevents connective tissue adhesions in the acute and sub-acute stages of healing. Most effective technique in removing edema/swelling.
► Scar Tissue Massage
Specialized technique that stimulates the lymphatics in the area of the scar/wound to facilitate collagen removal, decrease inflammation, and improve range of motion/flexibility.
